With passion, commitment and hard work, the mission of the TG Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGANB) is to combat drug trafficking comprehensively, including cultivation, production, transportation, smuggling, sale, purchase, possession, or consumption of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in the state of Telangana. It serves as a ‘Secretariat’ for the state Anti-Narcotics Task force so as to exercise the powers of a Police Station within the meaning of section 2(s) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, to register, investigate and prosecute cases related to drug and psychotropic substances. With the instructions of the Director General of Police, Telangana State, TGANB can also take up investigations of narcotics and medical drug cases from other units in the state of Telangana.

TGANB’s three pillars, ‘Courage-Commitment-Combat’ is the motto to control drug offenders in the state. Thus, these three pillars have become a mandate of TGANB since its inception to generate grass-root level intelligence to detect and disrupt organized drug trafficking groups. As Telangana’s nodal point, it works with all Police Commissionerate/District Head Quarters in the state and central bureaus, viz., NCB, CNB, IB, Customs, etc., to overcome the challenges to tackle drug menace with the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), and the Government of Telangana.
